Rotations during the R1 through R4 years are provided in 3 major hospitals with extensive outpatient services and the state’s only adult and pediatric Level 1 Trauma Centers. The full spectrum of pediatric radiology is provided at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the nation.

*Emergency Radiology (UAMS): This rotation is specifically for R1 residents providing exposure to radiographs, CTs, and ultrasound cases in the emergent setting. Residents work from 2-10 pm, staffing out cases with attending radiologists.

**Emergency Radiology (UAMS): This rotation is the Emergency Radiology rotation for Upper Level residents (R2-4), who read emergent cases from the ED at UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Little Rock, Arkansas Children’s Northwest, and the VA. Residents also work from 2-10 pm, staffing out cases with attending radiologists and providing a transition of care to oncoming night float residents.

Night Float: The night float rotation is a 1-2 week rotation that runs from Sunday- Friday. The Sunday shift is 8 pm- 7am while Monday-Friday is 10 pm- 7 am. During night float, the upper level resident will provide preliminary reads on all emergent cases from 4 separate hospitals: UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Little Rock, Arkansas Children’s Northwest, and the VA.  Lower level R1 residents staff out all neuroradiology cases at 7 am with UAMS neuroradiology staff, while the upper level resident will staff out all body cases with UAMS body staff.
