Diagnostic Radiology Residency
Associate Program Director
James Ireland, MD
Our large volume of imaging studies (well over 500,000 per year), wide variety of pathology, cutting-edge technology, and dedicated faculty make this training program an exceptional educational opportunity for residents. Our program includes the clinical year followed by 4 years of diagnostic radiology training. We will offer 7 positions in the upcoming match.
Clinical training in our program provides a sound basis in all subspecialties of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology. Our goal is to prepare you for subspecialty fellowship and excellence in either private practice or academic radiology with emphasis on patient-focused care.
Our residents are directly involved with all imaging and image-guided procedures performed in the department. Faculty supervision and timely feedback are provided at all times. Residents assume more and more responsibility as they progress through the training program. Exposure to a large volume of cases and variety of pathology ensures that you will perform with confidence upon completion of your training.
Our Resident Education Center includes a newly renovated resident library, resident lounge, conference room, and computer-based learning center, all made possible by Dr. Wilma Diner who was our program director from 1971-1989. The Diner Family Endowment for Radiology Residents and additional support from the radiology faculty provide annual allocations for continued support of resident education.
